The event

In a few words

The 6th edition of La TraverSeine will be held on Saturday, 19th September and Sunday, 20th September, 2020.

La TraverSeine is a unique opportunity to cross Paris through the Seine with Canoe, Kayak, Stand Up Paddle, Pirogue or Dragon Boat. For discovery (15km) or competition (26km), alone or with a team, come visit Paris and the Hauts de Seine differently.

This event is co-organized by the Comité Départemental de Canoë-Kayak of the Hauts-de-Seine (CDCK92) and the Comité Départemental de Canoë-Kayak of Paris (CDCK75), with the support of the Comité Régional de Canoë-Kayak d’Ile-de-France (CRIFCK).

La TraverSeine is the heiress of the « Coupe Jean Olry » and of the « Traversée de Paris », organized the first time in 1947.

La TraverSeine is a weekend dedicated to canoe-kayak and all paddling sports, whose biggest moment is the Paris crossing through the Seine, this course is accessible only during this event.

New for the 2020 edition

La TraverSeine, in 2020, is associated with two big events around the Seine

The rowing Traversée de Paris et des Hauts de Seine

At the same time as the 6th edition of La TraverSeine, will held the 35th edition of the Traversée de Paris et des Hauts de Seine, a discovery course of rawing, 28km, one of the biggest events organized every year by the LIFA (Ligue d’Ile de France d’Aviron). In 2019, there were 224 boats, which means 1100 participants. As for La TraverSeine, this event is international (participants coming from Belgium, Germany, The Netherlands…)

The Odyssée, event combining culture and solidarity

There will be the first edition of the Odyssée in Paris-Bercy; the goal of the event is to rehabilitate the Seine into Paris. On Sunday afternoon, there will be all kinds of initiations (SUP, kayak, pirogue, jetski, water ski…) on the Seine, from the Bassin du Port de la Gare to the BNF, with Nautisme Ile de France. On Saturday, the first “village of water” will be held on the riverside with the following program: nautical activities, new mobilities, environment, solidarity-based innovations, shipyards… There will be a giant “guinguette” from Paris to Chatou, via Sèvres, to celebrate the Seine. Culture will be celebrated too, with a parade of traditionnal boats.
